Citi is ragging mad at me! I mean they are going no holds barred on my ss! Multiple calls a day, getting more and more threatening. The latest was just moments ago where they phoned me at work (after a letter asking them to not call me at the job) and were stark raving, frothing at the mouth angry telling me to "go out this weekend, get hammered and enjoy the hell out of it, because come next week, you will be property of the state". And told me that by the sound of my voice, they could tell that the "hardcore lifers are gonna love you in the joint". "get ready to be somebody's **tch!". They they went on to get VERY graphic about "life in the can". All I had to do was pay up. The thing of it is, I HAVE been paying. I am in a payment arrangement that was authorized by them! How can they say I'm completely deliquent if I am sending them something and they are accepting it? And how can they get away with threats like this?

Report them to the BBB, FTC and your Attorney General's office. I would go into detail about what they said, also make sure you state the date, time, and the name of the representative who called. I would also send a complaint letter to the corporate office of Citi. You might even consider writing an article and submitting it to 'The Consumerist', a website that reports dirty deeds such as this. Do everything you can think of to get the word out!

The OC said that to you? Wow, that is just betting for a lawsuit.

I almost hope that an OC says something like that to me, because the pain and suffering that could be awarded for something like that could be substantial. (In my opinion - and I'm not a laywer)

In the mean time, if there's any availability left on your Citi card, it seems to me that they just gave you permission to charge up quite a tab this weekend at their expense. (just joking)

I would definitely report them. I know that Citi was a royal pain when I went through debt consolidation several years ago. I swore I would never deal with them again and yet what did I do last year but take a loan out with Citi Financial.

Sounds like you definitely have a good case to report them. Good luck!

jmoon219 - If you are still lurking, post and give us an update. I still can't believe that Citi was treating you like this and and curious how this is progressing.

I've had a number of calls from Citi now. They are by far the most annoying callers, 4-8 times a day until I answer. Then again starting 2-3 days later. And while they are not pleasant to talk to, I'm not getting threats at all.
