I owed Time Warner 80 dollars, which i paid, however it was late and had already sent to collections. TW assured me they would cancel the collection. They did not so CMI posted to my credit that I owe 33 dollars. i called them, paid them, thought this was though. Then a month later they post to my credit again saying I owe 9.00. ( dollars seriously!!!! Why not just tell me that when I paid the 33. My husband was very angry I paid them 33. He said to dispute it because we paid time warner and di not owe cmi anything. I am trying to keep my credit perfect because we are buying a house. now I have two collections from the same company for the same account on my credit. I am now disputing them both. This is so unfair. I am doing the right thing and they are taking advantage of it. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the FTC. What else can I do? Should I pay the 9 dollars? This has brought my credit down from 660 to 589. I need help!!!!!

You have already made payments on the same debt 2-3 times. Though the amount is small, there is no need to make further payments. Dispute the account status. Did you make the payments by check or money order? Do you have sort of document to prove that you have made the payment? If yes, then you can use those documents to prove that you have already made the payments.
