Being sued for my CC debt

Bottom line, it is my debt, but the whole scenario, as far as I understand it, has not been entirely professional.
I was contacted on 9/12 about the debt - I sent out a DV letter certified mail/return receipt. A few days later I received a response from the debt collector claiming they hadn't heard from me - "Lies", I said - I sent you a DV letter certified mail and return receipt - "So I am very aware you received my DV Letter. I also sent that letter certified mail/return receipt.
Finally, over a month later, on 10/23 I received the debt validation confirmation letter. Then a few days later a summons in court. However, I noticed that they filed the complaint in court before finishing my request to validate the debt - on top of that they bungled the paperwork and included the a cover sheet stating another person they are suing for CC debt as well.
I contacted the court AND the FTC (filed a complaint), but in the end should I continue to fight this or just file for bankruptcy?

i would show up in court with your receipts.the letters and everything you need to get a payment plan with the CA.if all else fails you can file the BK then, but only go if interested in working a payment plan with the CA.if you don't go even if you file BK the CA can get a judgement and try to enforce it before you file.by working with the CA you might be able to avoid BK.

I had similar collection agency/debt collector file something like this against me last year - and nothing ever came of it - so I wonder if they were willing to just shuck out the $70 to file this complaint to get me to call them.
Well, I mailed in my answer to the complaint - wish me luck!
