Heard that FDCPA rule has changed. I am saying what I am experiencing. I am talking to a debt collector. I have said that I will pay but not to contact me. But they are calling me. I need time to repay the amount if they agree to settle. But, how can I ask them not to call me say before a month?

Yes. CFPB has proposed changes in the FDCPA laws. But I don't know if the proposed rules have been implemented yet. It was supposed to be implemented somewhere in September 2019. If the new law has been imposed, then you can actually ask the debt collector to call you after a month. Let's see what the other forum members have to say about this.

Hi friend!
I am not sure there is any proposed-amendment in the FDCPA act that will protect you from the debt collector’s call for a month.
The proposed rule says they can call you 7 times per week. When you will establish contact with them and have some fruitful conversation like you will give them a correct date that you will repay your debt on that particular date then they will call you once a week.
I think what is the correct strategy for you is that you can call your debt collectors directly and tell them that you are willing to repay your debt on a particular date and until then please do not call me.
Maybe, this strategy will work for you. Call them and post their reply here.
Best wishes for you.
