LVNV Funding is reporting on my credit report. I due owe the debt and want to pay it, but I don't know what the best way to go about it is. First off the debt is from 2008 but they're reporting it as if its from 2011. Should I contact them or contact the original debtor to pay it? Is there any way I can get them to remove it from my report once its paid?

For starters, what state do you live in??

LVNV is a junk debt buyer so you cannot contact the original creditor.

Once paid, they will remove it from your credit report

I registered! :-) Thank you for getting back to me. I'm so stressed about this. I live in Ohio. Are they allowed to make it looked like a new account I opened in 2011 even though the account was opened in 2006?

So you would reccommend just contacting them and paying it off and asking them to remove it? All the other bad stuff in my credit is from 2007 and 2008, and I desperately want to rebuild it so I can sell my house and get a new mortgage.

And one more question... should I not pay it? And how do I dispute it? What do I say? Sorry for all the questions I just don't know what to do.

They are not going to remove it even if you pay it!!

Dispute it with the credit bureaus.....they have reaged the account!!!

When was the date of your first deliquency?? It will naturally fall off in 7 years.
