What excatly is a debt validation?

Cajun and I had a discussion on this quite some time ago. If he responds, maybe he can post the right address. For the most part though, they must prove that you have some contractual obligation to the debt the hold. Don't fall for any fake affidavits, etc. And for every bit of case law they quote (illegally since they are not a law firm, nor an attorney), I can find a precedent to contradict it.
