debt collectors

I recd a call from a debit collector - Corporate Receivables.
They say they are collecting for a debt to HSBC. I called HSBC
they still own the debt (acct) however I should be maiking payments to CR. I told them I would prefer to make payments to them. They said that was possible however I would have to mail checks in instead of paying online to CR. I checked my credit report and HSBC still owns the acct. Can I send a CEASE & DESIST letter to CR to stop contacting us as we prefer to deal with the original creditor? Can they still contact us after the letter is recd?

you can but.
you can,but the bext step would be up to HSBC.it would be up to them to decide to pull back the account.it sounds like this CA is being reasonable.i would however send money orders not checks to CR.if they balk at that then contact HSBC and inform them of that.

When CA's collect third party, it is done under a contract which means that the OC must send all payments or paydirects to the CA. Pulling an account back because the borrower doesnt want to work with a CA is not an option....the only way accounts can be recalled or pulled is if there is breach in contract, such as an fdcpa violation.
