It is probably too late for an adjournment although you could try to write to the court and say you need time to seek counsel. What ever the outcome be sure to show up or you will lose by default. t. Most courts will offer mediation to work out a payment plan. You would be wise to get an attorney if possible. It is better to pay your own attorney than the plaintiffs.

They dont want your car....they are not in the repo business. They are looking for wages and bank accounts to garnish. Besides, it wont be worth much once it is paid off. Right now you probably have little to no equity in it so exemptions probably wont apply.
