Hi
I disputed an account with Experian and it came back verified. I called the original creditor and they told me they had no information on my account that it had been sent to collections and they gave me the collection agency name, now the collection agency that they gave me is not listed on my report where the creditors contact info is located. Isn???t the CRA,s required to list correct creditor contact info and are they violating any types of laws.

It is a fact that the collection agency should report the account to the credit bureaus. Your creditor is not liable to report anything further about the account to the credit bureaus. However, unless the collection agencies report the account, the credit bureaus won't update the status. I'm not sure whether or not they are violating any type of laws in this regard. You can contact an attorney and take his opinion in this matter.

If your original creditor has reported correctly, there's nothing more for them to do. If the CA is not reporting (which is a good thing by the way) that's their prerogative. If the CA is reporting and the information they've reported is incorrect or incomplete, then you need to dispute it with the CA directly and be very specific about what you're disputing.
