Can I be sued by out-of-state collection agency?

Got a letter from an omni credit services in florida. I'm in Indiana. It's about an old cell phone bill. It's the usual collection letter with the the lines about no payment means further collection activity.
Does a CA have to be in my state of residence to sue me? Can they get a judgement against me if they aren't even in my state? Or is all they can do just continue to bug me?
Thanks.
