Can a creditor come to your place of employment?

I owe a money on a car loan and while I am late due to extenuating circumstances, I have the creditor visiting my place of employment and asking for me, sometimes once and twice a day. If I lose my job because of this, how can I pay him at all? Please let me know if this is illegal, quickly! Thank you!

Have you called them to let them know the circumstances? How late are you? If it is a "buy here pay here" type lot, they can repo you at any time.

I don't know, soaplady. I think there's a point where this goes outside of the realm of collection law and into full out criminal law. You can't show up to people's work, stalking them into paying you. That's pure harassment...

It is a secured debt. Doesnt sound like the poster is communicating properly. Or the poster is avoiding their visits which in turn makes them return. Unless this is CA or TX, creditors can do whatever is necessary.
I suspect we are not getting the full story.
