My deceased father opened a credit card for me in my mom's name while they were married. I became unemployed and could not keep up the payments. Creditors Interchange (CI) has threatened to prosecute me criminally although as long as I had the card I made substantial payments. They have also threatened to put a lien on my moms house. I have explained that the debt is mine and I would be glad to pay again when I get a job.

Any help?

Daddy's girl, they can't prosecute you criminally, neither can they place a lien on your mom's house without first being granted a judgement from the court. Creditors Interchange made the same threats to me, I sent them a DV letter and haven't heard from them in several months.
