Debt Collectors

Hi I have two little collections that are on my credit report that I will like to pay off. I have read about the horror stories that is associated with paying debt collectors. I was wondering if someone can tell me what steps I should take and how I can go about paying them. Thanks

The only letter I got was from Asset and I know that it is a val
The only letter I got was from Asset and I know that it is a valid debt. The rest are vaild debts as well. I want to pay them off so that my report is better for a mortgage that I will like to get.
