I just received two phone calls back to back at work from a David Williams at 217-396-3201. He told me that he had a matter to discuss with me that could be criminal in nature and that failure to comply would result in a issuance to e processed. He got my works' cell number. I called the number back simply because I can get in real trouble for those kind of phone calls. He refused to tell me what company he was with. He refused to give me an address to send a DVL. He just kept saying that I was going to be criminally charged and detained... Has anyone heard of this number or name< This sort of freaked me out....

file a police report as this jackass is breaking the law,and would be in jail himself.i googled that number and nothing came up.file the complaint and inform your boss that this is a complete scam(which it is).to sum it up this is a disgrace to mankind humanoid that needs to be reported and ignored.

Well I do have old payday loans and I know I should be sending them a DVL but they won't even give me their address... I don't even know the company he is from.. We have been on this roller coaster with old internet payday loans that weren't paid back for 3 years now...the thing is, is that the accounts have been sold and sold and sold and I am not going to just send money to someone that says I owe them money.... I know I can't be charged criminally and I know that I can't be "detained".. I just wish I knew what company he was calling from....I could loose my job if I get too many of these types of calls. I was just hoping that someone out there has gotten the same call... If anyone knows this name or number, I would greatly appreciate some help....

I have the same issue with them calling one of our references - they call tell them that they are going to arrest me if they don't relay the message - a different one calls about every 3-4 months.. our friend sends me a text with the number so that we can file a complaint..

Thank you so much.. I have learned so much from this website and everyone always makes me feel better... I just usually ignore the phone calls but they started calling work and that really irritates me.. I have told them not to call my work anymore. I guess I just have to wait until the SOL runs out.... Do you know what the SOL is on internet payday loans?

These is a common scam. The PDL companies sell your info to these middle eastern scum who all use the same script. Go to your boss and explain that your identity was stolen and that you are getting all kinds of phone calls. This happened to me and please know that every time your info is sold to a new batch of scum the phone calls will start all over again. The always have the same script. You will be arrested, good luck to you, blah, blah, blah....

It is usually a different person and different number - since they sell the debt off.. but any time they are threatening criminal charges and will not provide contact info -it is a scam.. like they said let your boss know you have been a victim of fraud.. I Googled the number that called you and it is a VoIP phone from Ludlow, IL...

I called him and he called me back within minutes. he told me that he wasn't looking for me but the man who had my number previously. I don't know who he works for (and he didn't readily offer that info), but he should definitely have a bit more tact and provide his professional credentials when asked! Good luck.
