C.U. Recovery

Just got a letter from a C.U. Recovery.
Wondering if anyone has heard of this place?
Apparently trying to collect on a bank account
the the bank screwed up, and would NOT fix.
In fact, they would NOT even reply to E-Mail
requiring them to correct their mistake!
I have NO intent on paying for THEIR mistake(s)!
This is why I gave up on banks long time ago.
They've never been able to manage my money without
screwing something up, BAD. And never correcting THEIR mistakes!
As always, information appreciated.
Thanks.

Send them a DV letter and get cofirmation of the OC assertion of the debt. Thereafter, how you decide to proceed depends upon how certain you are that they are incorrect. How good is your documentation of the inaccuracy of the debt?
Have either the OC or the debt collector reported to a CRA? If so, you can dispute the accuracy of their reporting under the FCRA. If not, you dont have recourse to a dispute under the FCRA, and will have to slug it out with them via argument, and possibly in a legal action.
