How do you find the date of last activity on an account that doesn't even show up on your credit report any longer? I pulled 2 credit reports and it is not on either. Attys on behalf of CA sent a letter that they are filing suit on this even after I sent a DV letter and have yet to get a response on that. Yes, I know that is a violation and I am looking for a good form letter to respond to that with a copy to the state atty general office. My SOL is 6 years and the date of last activity would have to be around that if not longer. Since things posted to your credit report stay on there for 7 years and it is not on the credit report wouldn't that date of last activity be over 7 years? Logically speaking of course but who knows? Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi!
Welcome to the Forums!

It is true that negative items remain on credit report for 7 years. It may be the case that the item has dropped from your credit report after the expiration of 7 years. Do you have a copy of a document/money order/check showing the last payment date? If yes, then you can have an idea as to whether the SOL period on the debt has expired. If the debt is well past the Sol period, then they can take any legal action against you.
