My ex wife and I got a loan together while living in the U.S. We moved to Canada and soon after divorced. My ex agreed to pay the debt (verbally, nothing in a divorce agreement). However she has not paid the debt and now I am being contacted 7 years after the fact. Is there anything that would allow for the company to come after me in another country?

from PA... I believe the SOL has expired. The other thing is that the loan/collection agency has no information about me except my name, DOB and work phone number.

Has anyone been able to clear up the account they have with Citi card collections - it is now 9:35 where I am and they have called 2 times in the last 30 minutes - I wrote them a letter stating that I am on a payment plan for one card and I owe them 74.76 on the other one - but they won't listen - how can this company be so big and don't have any idea that they are missing out on getting paid - because I want to pay them - just payment arrangements with lower apr - I wish we could get a spokesperson from their company on this site?
