I have spent irresponsibly and have gotten myself in a lot of debt. I have 6K on one Visa card, 9K on another, 3K on a Mastercard, and 4K on a Discover. Also I have an 8K signature loan from Citifinancial.

I was really wondering how to get out from under this, but after reading this blog, the answer is clear. JUST DON'T PAY. And when they charge it off and sell it to NCO, Asset Acceptance, LVNV, etc., I'll just pretend they din't validate the debt and not pay them either. I think I can run up a few more thousnad in debt, too, before the credit card companies start cutting me off.

Thanks folks.

First of all, this isn't a blog. And second, Just because they don't validate, doesn't mean that you don't owe the debt. I take the Legal News, and there are suits from LVNV, NCO, and many others. They just issue a judgement aganinst you, garnish wages, etc. If you are serious about wanting out of debt, we can help you with such things as consolidation. If you aren't, this isn't the place to post..

Cajun and Nelly are right. Even if a debt some CA is trying to collect is legit, almost always the amount is over inflated with various "fees" and interests designed to rip you off. A charge off of $500 can somehow become $5000 overnight without explaination. That's the purpose of the validation letter.

To Guest who posted this thread...yes, that's all true. You CAN simply walk away from it all. I've actually had ATTORNEYS tell me that. Some actually take that risk and nothing happens to them except 7 years of bad credit. You CAN also sit around waiting for the lawsuits to come in and do nothing. And yes, rather than be bothered with anything in this forum and all the $5 certified letters and everything else, you can file bankruptcy...that is, IF you qualify. You can do any or all those things. Go for it. This forum is not about that. It is about people who really want to address their debt issues and not get ripped off in the process by shady collectors and their equally shady lawyers who care nothing about you, only about maing a fast buck on the backs of people who made mistakes or, through no fault of their own, ended up jobless or in the hospital for months and couldn't pay their bills.

Good luck "Guest". But go away. This forum is not for you.

after all the posts this windbag makes, why re people still not getting the point that he is justbeing sarcastic in a lame attempt to try to sound like he has a clue?

Folks, this is a debt collector, who comes here as a guest, and posts this crap simply to get a reaction out of everyone. The sad part is, it works. If no one responded to this jerk, the posts would probably stop.

But then again, he obviously doesnt have any kind of a life to start with, if he has to come in here and post like this to get a thrill out of life. Collector, when you're ready to stop hiding and come back to getting spanked in here by those who know the law, let us know.

I have not seen one person on these boards that has said they weren't going to pay a debt that they are legally obligated to. But people are not going to fork over hundred's maybe thousands of dollars for a debt that third party claims they owe without validation. And I am quite sure you wouldn't either.
