Palisades Collection LLC collecting for a debt never owed

How do I get collection agencies to stop selling a paid debt to each other?I have received a letter from Palisades Collection LLC in an attempt to collect a debt that was actually never owed and has been proven via AT&T and all 3 credit bureaus to be paid in full and a non issue. AT&T made an accounting error on my account and I can't get their error to stop following me. This is the third collection agency that has purchased this unowed debt and for two years I have had to keep fighting them. How do I make sure this is the last agency to buy this incorrect debt and have this debt erased for good? I am so tired of dealing with this and I am having to work overtime to protect my credit so that I can purcahse a home in the near future.

Unfortunately, collection agencies will keep calling if they have your phone number or more info related with the debt. You will have to make them aware about the unfair contact and that you have resolved the problem with AT&T. Tell them that this is happening because of the error done by AT&T and if you have proof from AT&T, it will make your point stronger.
The debt is not owed anymore and hence, they should stop calling you. Monitor your credit report regularly to make sure that no one is putting any kind of inquiries in your file. Too many inquiries lower the credit scores severely.
