Need Help With A Debt Validation That I Don't Feel Was Properly Validated By CA

Hello,
I recently sent a debt validation letter to a collection agency who is trying to collect on my Bank of America credit card. I had asked for an agreement with B of Am. and the collection agency of their right to collect on the debt, along with the original contract with my signature, and complete payment history on the debt. What I received back were copies of 2009 statements from B of A from this account. Do I have to accept this as validation of the debt. There are more than just a year's worth of statements on this account. There was no signed contract or anything about their right to collect the debt on behalf of Bank of America. I had previously been making payments to another collection agency up until September. When I sent them a letter saying I wanted to only be contacted by mail and not by phone they refused and sent the debt on to this most recent company. It does appear the the payments I made to the first collection agency were sent to Bank of America so the collection agency does not appear to own this debt.
Any suggestions on what I do next? I don't think a year of statements validate the debt, but I don't know what my next step should be.
Thanks.

None of that is required outside a court of law. They have properly validated the debt. The balls in your court now.
