We were recently collecting from this who had defaulted on a loan from a local finance company. I first went to his door and he acted like he didn't have any money. So then my partner went back and told the that he was with the CIS (formerly INS) and that he needed to pay now or he would be sent to jail. Wouldn't you know it, the was able to come up with all $2200 cash.

We then called CIS on him anyway just for the fun of it.

(1) The false representation or implication that the debt collector is vouched for, bonded by, or affiliated with the United States or any State, including the use of any badge, uniform, or facsimile thereof.
