I recently sent nco a limited cease and desist letter for my husband... i just now realized that his last name on his account with them is not his full last name and the letter i sent used his full last name (it's hyphenated). they have continued calling and this was their response:

Quote:
Dear ***,
thank you for your recent communication. i can assure you that we are committed to assisting you; however, we have been unable to locate the matter you have referenced from the information we have been provided. please provide us with further identifying information such as your social security number, the name of the original creditor, the creditor's account number and/or reference number and the billing address of the account. A copy of any correspondence you may have received from us would also be of assistance. To better assist you please provide the phone number we are calling so we may delete it from our files. kindly contact me at the above address with this information.

Aren't they just trying to get me to validate this debt myself? i provided them with his full name (which i guess they only know half his last name) and address (which they do have already), do they really need more? should i respond with a debt validation letter? this response from them stumped me, thanks in advance!

With as many credit card accounts I deal with on a daily basis it wouldn't suprise me if there was a problem with the name. I had an account today the persons name was misprinted it was John Junior Jr II. The first name is fictional for the purposes of this forum posting.

When you send a C&D you do need to include the telephone number to have a better success rate in getting it removed.
