What kinds of things can CA's say on answering machines or voice mails? I have a generic VM message on my voice mail, it doesn't even say my name. I just got this call from this company called redline, anyone ever heard of them? I was trying to figure who they collect for??

Any message goes something like this.

Hi this is " ", if this is not " ", please hang up. " " I am a debt collector trying collect on a debt, call me back at 800-218-8351, thank you.

I didn't think they could say what they were calling for on an answering machine...

Anyway I have read bad things about them... what to do now..

Ummm.......i din't think a CA could leave ANY kind of mesage.if hey couldn't verify it was ACTUALLY you they were talking to. Did you call them back, just to find out who they are?? If I get #800 calls, I'll call back, blocking my phone number so they can't trace it.

I havent called back yet I plan to today.

My VM is generic, no name on it. I also checked the BF's phone and they called his phone too. not sure if they left a message. I kinda thought they couldnt say that this is so & so trying to collect a debt if they didnt even know for sure where or who they were leaving a message with. I saved the message, is there some way I can report it? Do I mention what they did when I call them?
