Discover is calling my parents
Date: Mon, 12/15/2008 - 20:47
Hello all,
I am currently trying to settle my $4,000 account on my own with Discover. They have called my parents house about my deliquency which is a phone number that i never gave them. I called them to cease and desist calling that nember and they said they would delete it frrom their database. Just today they called my parents house again and again i called them to cease and desist and they said they would delete it again. Could i use this refusal to cease and desist to my advantage? Sanctions?
Thank you and God Bless

You need to send them a "Cease and Desist" letter by certified mail RRR, just telling them to stop is like talking to a rock, it does no good. They are allowed to call one more time after receiving the C&D letter, then if they continue to call, you can sue them for fdcpa violations.

Your parents however, can send a full cease comm. Have you spoken to them? Updated your address with them? If so, they have no reason to be calling your parents.
