OMG, is CACH crazy or what?!?!
I just checked my credit report again on experian and CACH has once again changed the balance back to 9,400! Last reported date is 5/2007!
Could it be they changed it back down because of the letter i sent them with all the vadlidation request that i had sent in the past? (but this time with RR) i do NOT understand this company!! I never know from month to month wot they will report my balance as... last month is was 12,499 this month back to 9,400!
SIGHS.

Ang - "dispute resolved - consumer disagrees" means that the credit reporting agency contacted the creditor with your dispute information, and the creditor disagreed with your dispute - either the debt is still valid (or they think it is), or they are not agreeing to have it removed. So the credit reporting agency had no choice but to say the dispute was resolved, but that you disagreed with the way the debt was being reported, or the amount, or the status of the debt.

You could try disputing it again, or contact the creditor directly, yourself, to dispute the debt and ask that it be removed from your report. However, if the debt is not paid in full at this time, and isn't past the SOL for collection, you may not succeed in having it removed.

Ang--

when did you send the validation letter out for the medical account? If it has been some time and you have gotten no reply, then that is your way to go--you should then send a letter CMRR to the credit bureau, informing them that you requested validation and the creditor has refused to provide it. By law, it is illegal for a creditor to report info on your credit file if they are not willing or not able to properly validate it. I would send the CB a letter, CMRR, stating that you want the entry removed from your credit file. Include a copy of the DV letter you sent to the CA, as well as a copy of the receipt that proves they got it. In this letter, tell the CB that continuing to report an entry without proper validation is illegal, and inform them that if they do not remove the entry on those grounds, you will be forced to pursue legal action against the credit bureau itself for violations of the fdcpa and the FCRA.

This letter will only mean something if the CA received the DV letter you sent, and if some time has passed without any response. If you just sent it last week, or if it was just received less than a month ago, then you will need to wait longer before doing this. But it should do the trick for you.

As for the CACH thing,

sorry bout that ang....

as for CACH, it seems to me that they are fishing for any $$$ they can get from you at this point. Lowering the amount probably has something to do with the legal fees, as someone else mentioned earlier. Maybe they are thinking that they can knock off some of this ridiculously high amount and you will settle up with them for the rest, but it doesnt seem right to me, not at all. Do you have paper copies of your credit reports? You could use them to show erroneous reporting in your file, with the amount that keeps going up and down like that. At this point, seeing what that other attorney mentioned about CACH when you went to court, I would go to www.naca.net and find yourself an attorney, pronto. That way, you will have a way to sift through all this crap and make sense of it all. For example, the amount of money they now claim you owe seems way too high to me, I am no expert, but that seems way off. An attorney can look at everything and help you make sense of it. Someone once told me that if you go through that website, you can contact an attorney have your first consultation is no charge--but be sure to verify that when you call one up. Also, an attorney can possibly help you find a new angle of attack. For example, he may be able to find a way to overcome the previous judgment, and so on. Keep us updated

I tried the naca route, got an atty's name from Bud Hibbs but when i spoke to his paralegal didn't seem they were too interested since I hadn't responded to the citaton. Now Cajun has given me the name of another atty which is kinda far from me. I'm gonna call him this afternoon when i get off and see if he can guide me in the right direction.
Luckily i DID make copies of this credit report and the ups n downs on it!
Woke up with knots in my stomach again today! GOSH i hate this!
Thanks for ur advice, it's so greatly appreciated!

I got it through all 3 but experian has been allowing me to continue to look at it for another few days, i think till the 10th. You can obtain all 3 for free once a year at www.annualcreditreport.com.
My next question is since i've seen my reports does anyone know where i can buy a monthly subscription to see all 3 monthly? I need to keep a close eye on this CACH cuz who knows when it'll be $30,000! lol
If anyone knows please let me know where i can go to obtain a monthly report!
Thanks,
Ang

Ang I use creditsecure, but if you don't have a American Express account then we would look elsewhere. All three credit bureaus sell some sort of 24 hour monitoring. The third party one I used before is truecredit.com.It is a service by Transunion that allows you to pull all three reports every 24 hours with alerts sent by email.
