I received a warrant in debt in the mail this past weekend. Along with this WID which to me looked legit I also received a letter from Dominion Law Associates saying enclosed is a WID that they encourage me to pay 5 days before court date which is scheduled for December. Now looking at the WID it has no clerk signature, it was sent through regular mail and it has no case number, but it doest have the court date and even room number. Is this legit or this a scare tactic. It says I owe about 3300. I am affraid that they might garnish my wages. HSBC has sold this account to NCO Financial and I had talked to them last year and set up payments with them but was unable to keep up with payments, I sent them a letter to stop contacting me. A couple of weeks later Dominon Law Associates began contacting me. I have never spoken to them. What can I expect on this court date, will they immediately garnish my wages? I checked online to the General District Court website but my case isnt even on there. How come it hasnt been filed in the court yet? Is a sheriff going to give me the actual summons-should I be expecting him soon? Your help is greatly appreciated. Many thanks.

My other question is did HSBC sell this to NCO financial to try to collect and then DLA bought it from them? Or did this all go back to HSBC and they got DLA to represent them in court because it says they are representing HSBC not a collection agency. Ahhh this is all confusing.

It lists plantiff as HSBC Bank and then below it says DLA is a debt collector. I will be calling HSBC to see what happend with my account. I have checked county court online and there is nothing about this hearing. I also work next to the court so I will stop by tomorrow to ask as well.
