Dominion Law Associates

I am currently working with a Debt Resolution Company because of my unsecured debts. My spouse is not a signer or named on any of my debts I listed with my Debt Resolution Company. I am on SSDI and my spouse is my Representative Payee and I also receive 100% VA Compensation.
I received a civil summons on a valid debt that I owe. My question is I live in NC and know this is not a community property state. To protect myself, I have opened new accounts in my spouses name only. I am aware of the Federal law that forbids the garnishment of my compensation except in cases where I owe the IRS, alimony, or child support. Can anyone else give me any other suggestions as to what else I can do to make it harder for Dominion or any other creditor in pursuing judgments or claims especially when I am already working on repaying them? I am nearly finished with one creditor at 4 cents on the $1, but it will not be completed until the end of September.

I'm from NC too and I have a question.. according to the state laws a debt collector like Dominion Law Associates CAN NOT garnish your wages?
They can not garnish but they can levy bank accounts. Sometimes
They can not garnish but they can levy bank accounts. Sometimes someone living on SSI will have their bank account levied but there are ways to ensure you keep your SSI. If you can afford it I would recommend bankruptcy if the debt is rather large :/.
they can note garnish your bank or employer unless the judgment
they can note garnish your bank or employer unless the judgment was entered in a garnishable state, NC is not a garnishable state, they can only place property liens.
