Is that 5 business days from first call or 5 days from first call ?
and if they dont send what do you do ?

That's a good question. I would think it would be 5 business days after first contact by phone. If they don't send then you do nothing. You CAN send them a DV letter but I wouldn't put gas on the fire.

I see you are in Texas. They have some of the best laws protecting consumers from debt collectors. Look into them if you have a chance and this way you know your rights.

Personally, I like to go ahead and DV the CA even if I haven't received the dunning letter. This would be after the first phone call I receive.

I just don't trust some CA's to send them out on time, thus tampering with my 30-day right to dispute the debt. I have had a few CA's that have called; however, months later I still had not received the letter.

Since it's been said, all a CA has to do is prove they have a system in place to send out the initial dunning letters, not that they actually sent it, I'm not taking any chances.

Wish that worked for me too. All I need to do to proved I paid off a CA account is prove I have a system in place for doing so?

No such luck!
