I sent Assest Acceptance a request for debt validation letter and what i got back was a print out from AALLC stating my name and last 4 of my SSN, current address, original nexcard account number, new AALLC account number, original amount owed and accrued intrest. The debt is not on my credit report because if if was valid at one time, it is over 15 year old. Can I get a copy of an old credit report or how do I contact the original debtor without the proper information? Thanks for any help

You would be well within your rights to send a cease and desist letter, especially if the debt is really that old.

If your account is that old, I'm not sure they'd have any info to give you...plus I'm sure they no longer own your account at this point. I'm guessing it has been sold several times in 15 years.

Edit: Slydog posted this in this thread

It's sound advice, should you send a CND, I'd be sure to include this tidbit.
