Collection agencies in KY

Yup they can contact you as there is no license or bond needed for a debt collector in KY. What you would need to find out is if a company needs to be a registered corporation in your state to do business, not sure....

While they are illegal pay day loans, all you have to do is pay back what you borrowed and nothing more. You will probably get threats of arrest, check fraud or the debt collector will say you comitted some crime and will have the police come to your house in a few hours or they will sue you if you don't pay right now.....

IGNORE the threats, they can't do a damn thing. Make sure you have your bank accounts closed that the PDL went through so they can overdraft it or take money out of it.

Lastly KY is a one party state, I suggest getting a tape recorder and if the debt collectors contact you, you can record the call without telling them. If they threaten you in any way, you will have it on tape and you can then get a consumer attorney and sue them in court. Threats are the ones I described and could be a huge payoff in court if they are found guilty!!!
