I too have been contacted by edward hanna and associates regarding a cc debt to Chase. It was 25k and I paid it as long as I could down to 21k. The wife is a state employee who is looking at furlows pay cuts etc, and I was laid off in central Florida making a great and substancial salary. Its been 2 years, always making payments to cover my debts, now I have been rehired in northern Alabama making $8.00 an hour.
Thank G_D i found the website and the hidious things about nthis debt collector. the collector from Hanna's office made an offer to compromise
down to $14,500. and asked for a fax #.He said he faxed the offer to the Shipping Store fax. I just referenced:( Hanna on Google and found this treasure trove of info. How do I proceed my brothers and sisters. Told the rep that I would like a letter from them giving me a clear and consise accounting of my indebtness to Chase...... Please help:D

I searched in the Internet and found that a lot of complaints have been made against them by the consumers. They have used several illegal tactics to make money out of the consumers in the past. Don't pay any money to them now. Check whether or not they are even licensed to operate in your state. Ask them to send you any document proving that they are representing Chase regarding this particular account.

Hello,

Actually, Hanna's office isn't so bad to work with, but for some reason they're giving you the runaround.

They can definitely accept less than what they are offering you. You'll definitely want to work something out with Hanna's office while your account is there, though, because this is usually the last stop a Chase account makes before going to a law firm within your state for litigation. So, if there's a possibility of resolving the debt within the next 30 days or so I suggest taking advantage of this opportunity. Again, though, please know that Hanna will take less than what they are offering; whomever you're working with is definitely playing hardball.

I wish you the best!
