Settlement Letter by email valid?

I received a debt settlement letter from LTD Financial by email. They offered fax but I don't have a machine. The letter is a scanned image and looks legitimate with an authorized signature.
My question is this valid and enough or do I have to get the real paper by mail?

I'd say one by email would be *far* better than a fax because you have Full Headers which can prove that it was from them in a court of law, if you ever needed to go that route (hopefully not, but it's best to be sure).
I personally would *never* accept one by fax.
