Hello,
I have a situation with CommonEd (electric utility company) that is being handled by ER Solutions. They have not reported anything to the Credit Agency they said. I asked them for a letter indicating that once I paid this amount in full, there will be no recording from their end to any credit agency.
I got a call from the person i have been dealing with supervisor, and she said that they are actually a intermediary agency for this client (comed) and they have no power to report me to anyone. she said, even if you were to cuss me out and hang up, Er Solutions have no power to report to any credit agency.
Is this true?

If the original creditor has not sold off the account to the CA,
If the original creditor has not sold off the account to the CA, then you can call your creditor and ask them about the CA. If the answer is affirmative, then you can ask them to sent you the letter you asked from the CA.
Generally, creditors can either sell-off your account to a CA or can hire a CA to collect the debt on their behalf. If ER Solutions is only hired by your OC, then don't expect them to report anything to anyone except your OC.
