They said a legal matter. Unless they actually disclosed the nature of the call (that you allegedly owe a debt) then it would not be a third party disclosure. However you can get them with the "legal matter" as it insinuates lawsuit to the least sophisticated consumer.

I have dealt with them recently, they are a collection that RENTS the law office name. It is probably regarding a pay day loan. They tried that scare tactic with me as well. They couldnt even validate the debt with me so i just ignore their calls now.
If you sent them a validation letter they are violating the fdcp
If you sent them a validation letter they are violating the fdcpa by continuing with collection activity before providing you with validation.

I can't send them a validation letter as I do not know what they are trying to collect. I have decided not to return their call as I have read that they call that "accepting the debt as valid." What a lot of happy horsesh-t that is.

What they said is just like PDL vendors trying to charge 1k+% interest. Just because it's on paper, or just because they state it doesn't mean that it supersedes state and federal statutes. Once they establish contact with you (either you call them or they reach you) they still have to send you the dunning notice notice per fdcpa, and you still have the right to dispute within 30 days of receiving the dunning notice.

They might accept it as valid, but not the rest of the world in general according to law.:) Just because you call to inquire does not mean they can decide 'ok, this must be her valid debt.' Heh heh..no, I don't think so! (Though I am sure they would like to.)

Send them a DV with enough information to identify yourself...and just list the phone number 716-651-0102 they have been calling onto your letter as a "reference"...indicate that you havent recieved anything in writing as of yet.

At least with them I know what they are looking for. They are collecting for an illegal PDL they say I owe 600 on a 300 dollar loan that I paid back 300 already. Yeah, thats going to happen real soon. Isn't hell freezing over soon?

They called me today. They are collecting on a Orchard Credit card. When I asked for a address for DV he said 5100 Transit Rd, Buffalo NY 14043. My caller ID came up as Signaral Law. 716-651-0211 is the phone number. You think this is the same company? If so, did they ever answer your DV letter? I'm wondering if he gave me a phonny address?
He's a joke
They keep calling me, trying to reach somebody I don't even know, I say let them waste their Money, I just laugh at everycall I get. I called them there is no such person here, nor do I know this person and they still continue to call, I have reported them to the Attorney General's Office for their threating calls "You must call me now", "before its too late".
You must be the same one that revived the other Cignorale thread
You must be the same one that revived the other Cignorale thread. Except now you've revived one over 6 moths old.
Is Mr. Cignorale paying you to post sweet things about him on boards of this type? Trying to clean up his tarnished image?
Just so you know! I have called CA's that have called me looking for someone I don't even know, telling them they are calling the wrong number and not to call back. I always get the same "OK, we'll take the number out of the system" line, then somehow, miraculously, a month later, I get another call from the same CA, made by the same collector, looking for the same person.
Now how did that happen when they said they took the number out of the system?
I've started recording these calls now, so when I do get another call a month later, I'll have it as evidence when I sue the CA.

It's URGENT that you call my office TOMORROW to avoid a lawsuit
It's URGENT that you call my office TOMORROW to avoid a lawsuit being filed against you!
LOL - good luck filing the 'legal matter' in CA from NY. While I know paying your bills and/or debts is obviously the prudent thing to do, dealing with these people who can't seem to get their heads out of their rearends doesn't make it much easier. Block their number(s) if they don't have a valid claim, and if they do, make sure you ask for everything in writing and only to communicate with you via USPS - certified mail at that, like every ligitimate lawyer. Then hang up. BTW - some of them actually call from their cell phones!!
Mr Ramos is at 877-291-3759 ext. 213. Call him if you want to talk to a large offensive term removed

My brother received a phone call from Lisa at the Law Office of Vincent P. Cignarale and stated that our mother owes a debt to a pay day loan place. I spoke with Lisa myself and she said that if they don't receive a "settlement payment" within the next 24 hours, the deal is off and the original lender would be trying to get my mom charged with fraud. Does this sould legit to you?

it's not legit at all as debt are civil matters, and fraud is a crime.have your brother file a police report as this person broke the law with that call.also have your mother file AG,and FTC complaints against this buffalo chip collector.demanding immediate payment is an FDCPA violation as they are required to send a letter of collection to your mother.by telling you what she told you lisa broke the law.DO NOT PAY THIS PLACE A DIME!!!!!!!!
