If in spite of my request they keep calling me will it be considered a violation of fdca act? As far as I remember I already paid the debt amount. Why are they calling me now? How will I stop them?

Nelly read the FDCPA...it is in there is black and white!!
? 805.Communication in connection with debt collection
(c) CEASING COMMUNICATION. If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt,

Yes, I know that the collectors can't contact the consumers after receiving a written notice to cease communication with them. You are absolutely correct about that.

However, in one post you have claimed that it is not a violation of FDCPA laws on the part of consumers to ask the the CAs cease communication with the collectors. And in another post you have said that consumers can't tell the collection agencies verbally not to call them. This is why I thought that the forum members may get confused.
