If the collection agencies are calling you repeatedly in spite of paying off the debt, then you can send them a written notice to cease communication with you.

Yes, I know that the collectors can't contact the consumers after receiving a written notice to cease communication with them. You are absolutely correct about that.
However, in one post you have claimed that it is not a violation of FDCPA laws on the part of consumers to ask the the CAs cease communication with the collectors. And in another post you have said that consumers can't tell the collection agencies verbally not to call them. This is why I thought that the forum members may get confused.
