So today I got a call...."Sir you have a debt you owe Cash Net back from 2006 and if you don't pay we will send paper work to your county for litigation. They knew my SSN and employer from 2006. So what do I do? Ignore them or contact Ohio Attorney General? What can I say to them to get them off my back?? Please advice..


CashNet is an illegal payday loan company. Just ignore the call. If you do receive the call, then just tell them that you know they're an illegal company. If they harass you too much, then just contact Ohio Attorney General.

Was this just CashNet or CashNetUSA? The former is illegal, the latter not. But technically, as far as collecting on a debt goes, the Ohio SoL is 6 years so its pretty safe to assume the debt is time barred.
Send the collectors a C&D letter in writing by certified mail.

They are illegal lender. Don’t worry, they can’t do anything. They are just trying to scare you. File a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC immediately.
