I got a letter from them collecting an a old Bally's account I am 90% sure that the SOL has passed 6 years in my state of Massachusetts. They said $700 plus $234 in interest.

Lucky for me I live in Massachusetts. They must be licensed in my state and are not, so looks like I will be suing them soon.

Also under Massachusetts debt collection laws they have 5 days from the day they get my DV letter to send me a copy of the original signed contract or something bearing my signature, plus account history, statements, payments made and credits.

So now I wait, what else should I do? I can't pull my credit report to see if they are on there, I already did it once this year. Should I also report them to the state or should I wait to see what happens with the DV letter?

Well since they got my DV letter, they got it 5 days ago, they called my house today. I didn't get to answer it though, too bad. I guess I will just let the violations add up and I will play the scared consumer," Please don't sue me Mr. Collector"....lol

I need to call an attorney in a few weeks.
