I got a letter from them collecting an a old Bally's account I am 90% sure that the SOL has passed 6 years in my state of Massachusetts. They said $700 plus $234 in interest.

Lucky for me I live in Massachusetts. They must be licensed in my state and are not, so looks like I will be suing them soon.

Also under Massachusetts debt collection laws they have 5 days from the day they get my DV letter to send me a copy of the original signed contract or something bearing my signature, plus account history, statements, payments made and credits.

So now I wait, what else should I do? I can't pull my credit report to see if they are on there, I already did it once this year. Should I also report them to the state or should I wait to see what happens with the DV letter?

I'd give them some time, to see what happens with the DV. They may very well slink off into the night. If not, you'll have the makings of a very respectable set of complaints (state and federal), as well as a lawsuit.

They called again and I answered it. It was a recorded message saying it was Heather from Federal Credit with some great opportunities for me and to return her call, the message kept playing over and over.
