I currently owe $6090 to First National Bank of Omaha and am 7 months behind on my payments. I received a letter from them stating that they are going to charge off my account at the end of this month. I called them this morning to see about doing a settlement. They told me that because I only had the account under a year that they were unable to offer me a settlement. I have had my account with them for 9 months. I told them that I cannot afford the $6K but they refused to work with me. I told them that I would deal with the CA then.
Once it goes to collections, will I still be able to settle with the CA or will they follow the OC rules as well? I know that once it goes to CA to send a validation letter just not sure if the CA will be more willing to work with me than the OC.
Has anyone dealt with this creditor and/or situation before? If so, what was your outcome? Any thoughts or advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kim

You are more better off to dealing with a debt collector at this
You are more better off to dealing with a debt collector at this point. Most likely they will settle for less and even more so at the end of the month. It also buys you some time because the debt collector will probably not act on it right away, probably about 6 months.
I agree with guest post. Unfortunatley with the bank unwilling
I agree with guest post. Unfortunatley with the bank unwilling to work with you you have no other choice. Sorry
