If I am a first party collector and a customer asks where they are calling, can I state that they are calling the bank or do I have to identify the company I work for?

A first party collector would be an "in house" collector for creditor. Nothing wrong with stating where you are calling from. Even as a 3rd party collector working for a CA, under the fdcpa you may state where you are calling from if specifically asked.
