Hello everyone,
I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me. I received a letter on May 05, 2012 from First National Collection Bureau who is trying to collect from another collection agency (I think they sold off the account to FNCB) named Jefferson Capital Systems LLC who was trying to collect for the original creditor Bank of America. This debt, I believe was on an overdrawn checking account and I received a letter stating that I could pay the debt off at a reduced price of 60%. The state of limitations in Massachusetts is 6 years to collect. The original collection was on my credit report and has now fallen off. Can these morons put it back on my credit report since they are a different collection agency? I have spent many years clearing my credit to the point where I now can get credit and I'm not willing to risk that by having a new collection added to my credit report and waiting another 7 years to drop off. PLEASE HELP!!!!
