What is A FOAD Letter

I was reading on a post and was wondering what a FOAD Letter is.
I'm going to mail a dispute letter today on a SOL account, and see what happens. How long do they have to wait till they reply? It's on A C One card, then turn over to one company and now another is acting on the behalf of another company.
Show all in all it was sold to one company, tehn another company , then another company that this company has.
Only one Collection Company shows on my credit report.
When and if they reply going to see what they send me.
Also waiting on State Attorney General to call me back to hear it from them what the SOL is for NC, I'm pretty sure it's 3 years and wondering if it's 3 years and 180 days.

if this beyond the SOL,then that is a #### OFF AND DIE.nascar basically puts it like this.
dear sir/madam i'm not paying this debt.i'm not paying this debt,again i'm not paying this debt.it is past the SOL.did i mention i'm not paying this debt.
something like that.just make sure the debt is past the SOL.
