Hello.. I have a little problem here and i hope someone could give me some advices

This was 2 years ago when i was 18, i over draft about $11 with bank of america, however the overdraft fee went up to $280 i got really mad so i decided not to pay for it. After awhile they closed up my account, i didn't know that if i dont pay for it i can't open another account with any other bank, that went on for over a year now. I finally got a job, and i called bank of america to settle the debt that i owe because i want to start everything all over again, so i can get back on track. I already settle my debt with Focus Receivables Management and i have received a letter from them that my debt already paid off. Can someone please explain it to me. What's going to happen from now on. Would they take my name off the list. Can i go back to bank of america or any other bank to open an account with them? Is there anyway i can fix my bad record... I'm only 20 and i want to fix it before it's too late.. I totally wasted 2 years of my life over that little mistake:(

Hi!
Welcome to the forums!

Better late than never. You have done the right thing by settling the debts. You should ask them to update the account status on your credit report since you have paid off the debts. Next check whether or not item is listed on Chexsystems. If yes, then you can request them to remove the item from the report. BOA or any other bank is likely to use Chexsystems before opening an account for you. So, even if Chexsystems refuse to delete the item from the consumer report, then ask them to update the account status on it.
