I (and several family members) received nasty calls from this number, claiming that there is some fraud case against me. I know this is typically a joke, but does anyone know about this company. A google search returned the webstie for United Check Services.

It's a scam. Tell them to FOAD.

I remember these guys. Illegal PDLs use them to collect on consumers who got wise and refused to pay more than they owed. I say you file a police complaint (verbal assault for threatening you) and write to the FTC, the CFPB and the AG about this. Just for good measure.
