Question about Frederick Hanna & Associates

They know where I live. I live in Georgia. Not far from Hanna's office, in fact. The county next door. They sent the letter to my house and they have seen my credit report. They know where I live. The parents they have been calling reside in northeast Pennsylvania! I have never lived with my parents in Pennsylvania and have never even LIVED in Pennsylvania. I have no address attached to them. If they are calling my parents every single day for the last week, at least once a day if not more, are they violating the FDCPA yet? I need to know this.

As per the FDCPA, a debt collector can contact your relatives and friends to know about your whereabouts. But the debt collector cannot contact such persons more than once unless requested to do so.

Does that mean contact them more than once until they reach someone or just contact them once?

The debt collector can contact your friends 'once' to ask for your address and contact numbers. But, if your friends ask them to call at some other time, they can give a call.

Well, it's not my friends. It's my family. They keep calling and leaving messages for me at my parent's house in Pennsylvania. My stepmother said that she and my father are never home when they call and she said they have called at least once a day, everyday, for the last week. She said if she actually gets to talk to them, then she will tell them to quit calling. I know for a fact that she would never give them permission to call them back. They have already called too many times.

Yeah, I know it's not a contact. They've called too many times for my stepmother's liking. However, as of today, she said they have not called the last two days even though she hasn't spoken with them. They must have realized they got the wrong person.

Okay, next.
I sent a Debt Validation letter to Hanna & Associates on August 13. I received the card back saying they received my letter on August 16. I got a letter back from them stating that the account was opened with Capital One, on given date for the balance of $$$$$. They claimed that "their client" has verified the balance and that it is true, correct, and still owing at this time. This is information they could have just pulled off of a credit report.
They didn't verify anything. They also said a last payment was received on August 2, 2010. I can assure you that if a payment was made, there was no payment made this year. Can anyone advise on what steps to take next?
