Hey Folks,

I'm still way stressed out about today.

Here's whats keeping me up now:

Now that the CA has a judgement against me, will they go after my checking account? I have a joint account with my wife. Again, I'm on SSDI but my wife works.

I'm freaking out thinking they're going to take everything we get (and thats not much).

From what I've read, the account is often frozen before you know it's happened.

Help?

my wife and I have a joint account. should I have my name taken off of it? her paycheck is also direct deposited.

I understand that to freeze an account the bank must recieve a Writ Of Execution.

Is there a hearing before this happens? Does anyone know how long after a judgement is declared that the writ is usually served?

I know this is probably all BS, but I called the CA and the gal I talked to said they would not seize the account since I'm on SS because there wouldn't be any point to it.

I asked her what kind of payment plan we could set up and she said, again, because I'm disabled that anything I could spare would be fine.

I asked her if I had her word that my account would not be seized and she said I did.

I've also been calling BK lawyers about filing a chater 7. Thats 900-1200 bucks nowadays.

get that in writing JT.they got a judgement they don't want you to do anything to protect the account.maybe that's just my paranoia where these CA'S go,but i wouldn't take her word
and if it means taking your name off the account.so be it.
