I gots a question for ya'll...if you file a complaint with the FTC...what happens?

does the FTC call whomever you complained about and tells them? or, do they send something in writing to them? Do they keep a list of complaints on particular companies?

Will you ever be contacted by the FTC about it??

I am just wondering what happens....

I can't point to exactly where I read this ... but I recall reading somewhere on the FTC website...

They take complaints, but they do not respond nor intervene to individual complaints. Rather they keep track of the complaints, and when they see a pattern of multiple complaints coming in on the same company, then they get involved.

So if you filed a complaint, chances are they won't contact you unless a lot of other people have filed the same complaint.
