Ok. I had an auto lease 4/02-4/05. The lease was paid every month. At the end of the lease oc claimed I owed roughly $850. This ammount was never paid..and showed on cr as "charge off as bad debt" and purchased by another lender. In an earlier cr bedore charge off(1/4/07 two years after lease termination) it was reported as " full termination payment scheduled completed for terms of agreement," with the balance owing of $850.00. The ending balance has never been validated nor explained. Everything in my end of lease agreenment, is showing ok and it does not indicate what these charges are for either. Now I will admit I was late here and there on this account..all late payments included the late fee as appropriate. I even have a reciept from 2005 when I paid the over mileage. But now this unexplained debt is a charge off and has been sold to another company. Both show on my cr. OC as a charge off and JDB as a collection account unpaid.
Both have been disputed online and came back verified. So I sent a debt validation letter to both OC and JDB. OC sent me a copy of a lease agreement which according to them validates the tradeline in cr. JDB sent nothing. 30 days has passed. Now what? Does a copy of an auto lease explain/validate their tradeline? I have paid 36 months per my lease contract. I Paid the excess mileage. Everything in my end of lease paperwork does not indicate any additional charges. Can the OC change their tradeline from a good account to a charge off? JDB never sent any validation of this alleged debt. How can they keep the tradeline in my cr? How do I get these 2 negative accounts to go away?

Did the OC send you details of the payment you have made and details of the amount outstanding as a debt validation? If they have not done so, then I think that it is not a proper validation of debt and so you ask them to remove the charged off account from your report. If they do not remove it, you can file a complaint with the FTC.

i did dispute with online services on tu file in march 09. it came back verified..ok that was nice of em..but then i wrote for debt validation to both oc and jdb..oc sent me a lease copy and stated this "constitutes their tradeline in my credit file"..i guess that must be there debt validation..jdb didn't even bother to send anything at all..all this stuff has been disputed and came back verified..do i have any recourse?

What state do you live in? Is there an "Office of Financial Regulation" or something along those lines in your state? I'm thinking you might check with them, tell them what's going on, and see if they have any suggestions?

Also, try as SOAPLADY suggests. Also, depending what state you live in, there may be laws that can be applied to the OC.
