Hi, we had a shady contractor that never paid the excavator approx 10K. We ended up having to pay, and placed a judgement against the contractor. Now the contractor has a new job and we would like to take action. We contacted a lawyer and he said we could go about this matter without an attorney. He said we could issue him a letter of notice that if he doesn't satisfy the debt we will contact his employer to garnish wages. We live in a state that garnishes wages. What would the next step be after we issue the letter to him (and if he doesn't take any action), would we contact the employer next with a letter, or the court, or both? Thanks.
