GC Services-- giving wrong info?

My husband and I received a letter saying that we owed money to them because of an account with T-mobile that has a open balance. When my husband called they said that if we paid a certain amount of money that T-mobile will reactivate our lines. However when we call T-mobile and talk to them about it they say that is not an option. Has anyone else been told this? And what do we do?
