Gurstel Staloch and Chargo

Has anyone here dealt with them? I found a small bit about them on bud hibbs but not an overwhelming amount of bad stuff.
The letter states they have been retained by Fortis Capital LLC, original creditor HSBC. I owe $3962.19.
Then letter says IOWA NOTICE of RIGHT to CURE, and then under that goes on to say I'm in default of this transaction and I have until Dec 3 to cure the default by sending in payment of $3962.19. Then it goes on with the FFDCPAN, and then on the next page it says if I am unable to make full payment I should contact one of the collection representatives who will be able to help resolve this matter.
How should I handle this? I do not want to get sued. I cannot pay $4000. I did have this HSBC credit card.
Thanks for any help.

have you had anymore contact with Gurstel & Assoc?
I too have received some notification from them. I am unsure how to respond also - especially since I have dealt with questionable debt collectors in the past. Just wondering if you have had anymore contact with this firm. Thanks
